The Rotherham Charter values parents, carers, children and young people as genuine partners. It aims to ensure that children and young people have a happy and positive experience in their setting or school, and when accessing services. It is a perfect model of co-production. Co-production can mean different things but we feel it involves an equal relationship between practitioners, families and young people when they are working on things together.
Rotherham Local Authority and Rotherham Parent Forum Limited have been equal partners from the start of Charter developments. A diverse team has been created involving parents, carers, practitioners from services and schools, and young people.
